December 14: Sikorsky and Elbit showed off their Armed Black Hawk (ABH) demonstrator proof-of-concept helicopter in Israel to potential customers.

Test Pilot Bill Fell from Sikorsky provided a live-firing demonstration together with an Israeli Air Force co-pilot. The ABH is a development of the UH-60 Black Hawk by Sikorsky and Israeli company Elbit Systems that began in September 2008 to produce an armed demonstrator for evaluation by the Israeli Air Force.

Weapons fitted include an electro-optical guided missile, a laser-guided missile, a new laser-guided rocket system and a 20-mm turreted gun. ABH may lead to a production version called Battle Hawk, which would come equipped with a full suite of armed reconnaissance and attack capabilities.[/quote][/quote]
