The original contract for the deliveries of the 27mm ammunition for the aircraft gun Mauser BK-27 of the Gripens was concluded by the Czech and German defence ministries in 2005. Out of the four addressed countries, Germany was the only to respond to the offer. The Czech military leased 14 Gripens from Sweden in 2005.
