Peut être qu'une piste de sa véritable utilisation est que ses capteurs multi-spectraux sont capables d'identifiés certains types de roches, ces derniers pouvant permettre la présence de grottes naturelles, tout comme d'installations rudimentaires enterrées.

Dans les diférents sites sur le WB-57, une de ses principales caractéristiques est le nombre conséquent et les types de matériels différents qu'il peut embarquer. Et apparemment sa structure est parfaitement adaptée à ce genre de modifications rapides et profondes.
